I HAVE BEEN A PSYCHOLOGIST SINCE 2014, WORKING IN VARIOUS FIELDS SUCH AS OUTPATIENT Mental Health, EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS, AND IN TEACHING ROLES IN THE FIELD OF PSYCHOLOGY. Prior to becoming a psychologist, I was a teacher in the public education system for over a decade.
TO ME, Psychology is “THE study OF THE SOUL” AND IS A PROCESS OF DISCOVERING AND RELATING TO YOUR DEEPEST SELF, RELATING BETTER TO OTHERS AND THE GREATER WORLD, AND FINDING PURPOSE AND MEANING THROUGH THE STRUGGLES IN YOUR LIFE.
MY TRAINING IS VARIED, AND I WORK IN AN INTEGRATIVE WAY, CONNECTING MIND, BODY, AND Soul. MY PERSPECTIVE ON HELPING AND HEALING DRAWS FROM A BLEND OF psychology approaches AS WELL AS A VARIETY OF COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE philosophies, such as mindfulness. A KEY FOUNDATION OF ALL THE THERAPY WORK IS BASED TRAUMA-INFORMED PRACTICE.
BEING AN INTEGRATIVE THERAPIST AND HAVING A BROAD RANGE OF TRAINING IS BENEFICIAL. IT ALLOWS ME TO DRAW FROM A TOOLBOX TO DEVELOP INCLUSIVE, EFFECTIVE, AND INDIVIDUALIZED TREATMENT PLANS TO BEST MEET THE NEEDS OF MY CLIENTS.
Additionally, i have considerable training in Shamanic healing and alternative energy healing modalities (e.g. Reiki); having a knowledge base in these healing practices can provide an energetic/spiritual influence to my work as a Psychologist.
